Here are a few of the best OBS settings for streaming audio and video<\/a> content, including the bitrate settings.<\/p>

1. OVP-Specific Setting Requirements<\/strong><\/p>

Different online video platforms<\/a> have different encoder setting requirements. That\u2019s because each video<\/a> or multi stream platform uses different technology to bring streams<\/a> to life. Another reason is differences in requirements such as stream output quality, video<\/a> resolution, and the built-in CPU usage preset in the broadcaster\u2019s system. That\u2019s why selecting your OVP according to your needs and desired output as a broadcaster<\/a> is important.<\/p>

2. OBS Output Settings<\/strong><\/p>

3. Bitrate and Internet Speed<\/strong><\/p>

As you manipulate your bitrate settings, it is essential to consider your internet connection.<\/p>

Your internet speed must be at least double your OBS<\/a> bitrate if you want to produce a high-quality stream<\/a>. Otherwise, you\u2019ll run into buffering issues. Video quality isn\u2019t the only element that defines the overall experience your content delivers to your viewers. Streaming<\/a> with no buffering should be equally important as high video and audio quality output.<\/p>

For example, if your internet upload speed is 2000 Mbps, then your OBS setting for streaming<\/a>, audio, and video bitrates should not exceed 1000 Mbps.<\/p>

You can search \u201cinternet speed test\u201d on Google and click \u201cRUN SPEED TEST\u201d to test how fast your internet is.<\/p>

Additionally, you can test your internet connection speed by going to the website testmy.net.<\/p>

It\u2019s equally important to consider your target audience when you\u2019re determining the bitrate for your audio and video<\/a> files. Are they going to watch your content on their smartphones or laptops? If they\u2019re going to watch them while on the move, you might have to give them the option to lower the bitrates as their data speeds could fluctuate.<\/p>

Alternatively, you can opt for adaptive bitrate streaming<\/a>, which enables you to dynamically change the bitrate of your live stream<\/a> based on the data speed of the viewer. This way, they won\u2019t have to face prolonged buffering periods and will have a smooth streaming<\/a> experience.<\/p>

4. Advanced Output Mode<\/strong><\/p>

7. OBS Recording Settings<\/strong><\/p>
